If you would like to commission a pet portrait, please contact me. I will then ask you to email me a number of photographs. Please do not be afraid to inundate me. I’d love to see close-ups with lots of detail, as well as multiple poses, so that I have options when planning the composition. The more pictures I have to work with, the better.

I will then spend a few weeks at work and shortly thereafter a package will arrive for you in the mail. In addition to the original artwork, you will receive a disk with a scan of the image, so that you can easily have it reproduced on a tee shirt, business cards, greeting cards, stationary, mugs…

Watercolors

The cost of a portrait done in watercolors is $500. 

Oil Paintings

Oil paintings take months to complete and cannot be rushed. They cost in the neighborhood of $4,000.

Acrylic Paintings

If you want a larger painting, acrylic is also an option. These will generally range from $600 to $1000 depending on size and complexity.

Other Commissions

Animals are certainly my specialty but I will happily consider other subjects as well. Previous commissions have included botanical illustrations, cookbooks, children’s books, wedding invitations, logos, tee shirt designs, posters and Ex Libris.

Ex Libris  or bookplates are personalized labels placed on a book’s inside front cover, to identify its owner. They can be generic landscapes or represent one’s unique passions in life. And animals make for excellent bookplates. Options include pen and ink, watercolor and wood engraving. These generally range from $300 - $700.

I also enjoy painting on the wall. If you are interested in commissioning a mural in your home or place of business, whether a single animal or an entire wall of birds, feel free to contact me.
